A thigh lift is a procedure that will tighten the loose skin of the thigh and buttock by removing excessive skin and fat. It will not change the texture of the skin but by stretching it the crepiness is made less noticeable.
The incision is placed around the upper thigh and buttocks, usually in a transverse direction. Usually some fat is suctioned at the same time. The operation is done under general anesthesia. Most of the time this is
an outpatient operation and a stay in the hospital is not needed.
A thigh lift is a surgical operation and involves some risk. The main risks are swelling, bruising, bleeding, infection, scarring and numbness or change in feeling. The recovery takes one to two weeks. Most people are back to work within two to four weeks.
